The quality of a CBD batch cannot be reduced to one figure. Before looking at CBD levels, GreenChill aims to assess overall consistency: freshness, structure, trimming, aromatic profile, format uniformity and available information.
This framework does not replace the grower’s or laboratory’s work. It describes the editorial and commercial checks used to decide whether a batch matches the positioning stated on the site.
We check whether flowers are excessively dry, unusually moist or properly stabilised. Material that crumbles into powder is not called “ultra-fresh” just because the batch is recent on paper.
The profile should be clear and consistent, without unusual smells. Intensity varies by strain; the strongest-smelling flower should not automatically win.
Density, shape and small-stem proportion are assessed in relation to cultivation and size. An airier Greenhouse flower may fit its positioning perfectly.
A Small Buds pouch should mainly contain the advertised size. A batch with large amounts of powder, Trim and bigger buds needs sorting or a different description.
Trimming removes some leaves around the flowers. A premium finish requires greater precision; an economical segment may allow a different presentation if clearly stated.
Resinous appearance is a useful visual clue, but we do not use it to infer CBD levels. Composition remains analytical information.
We identify a dominant direction and a few secondary notes: Citrus, Candy, Exotic, Dessert, Purple or Classic. This avoids endless descriptions and makes the catalogue comparable.
If the profile changes noticeably at the next harvest, the page must change too. An aroma description is not a permanent promise for a strain’s entire lifetime.
We check that displayed levels match available documents and the product’s framework. Analyses do not replace product assessment, but prevent guesses about composition.
After cross-checking the criteria, the batch finds its place: premium, accessible format, aroma collection or another segment. Transparency comes from matching that classification to the product received.
Before looking for microscopic defects, we check overall consistency: relatively uniform size, appropriate colour, no foreign matter and presentation matching the stated category.
A slightly flexible bud that separates cleanly tells a different story from a dry, brittle flower. Texture alone is not enough, but gives an immediate clue about storage and condition.
The aroma should tell a clear story. A strain may be complex, but its dominant direction should remain identifiable: citrus, Candy, Cream, earth, resin, fruit or Gas. This guides its classification within GreenChill.
An excellent flower can be poorly positioned if its price far exceeds what its size or finish justifies. The final assessment therefore also considers perceived quality, category and price per gram together.
This distinguishes premium flowers, Small Buds and economical formats without suggesting that only the most expensive category is worth buying.
There is no single criterion. Freshness, structure, trimming, aromas, batch and analyses must be considered together.
Not on that basis alone. Density depends on genetics and cultivation; quality must be assessed in context.
That is the aim: variable information should follow the actual product rather than remain fixed.
