Buying the same named genetics twice does not guarantee an identical sensory experience. Cannabis remains an agricultural product : phenotype, environment, maturity, drying and storage can create differences between batches.
This variability is not necessarily a flaw. A responsible brand documents it, maintains a standard and updates its information when a new batch differs significantly from the previous one.
Genetics provide a range of possible characteristics. Depending on the stability of the line and the individual plant, some traits may be more pronounced than others.
Growers often maintain mother plants or clones to improve consistency. Even so, the environment and post-harvest handling continue to influence the final product.
Light intensity, temperature, humidity and air circulation affect development. A summer greenhouse harvest may differ from one grown in another season.
Growing practices influence growth and structure. It would therefore be simplistic to attribute every difference to genetics alone.
